Well I would like to say that last nights was a little scary waiting to see if Adam Lambert would make the Top 12, but it just wasn’t. There never really was any doubt that he would be voted in. He has consistantly been one of the best performers every night. It was still great to see him sing Satisfaction (Rolling Stones) again though (contestants who were voted in sang the song they sang last night again).

Adam Lambert waits with Nick Mitchell to see which one of them is through

I don’t think too many people were worried when they brought Adam Lambert and Nick Mitchell up to see who would get the final spot in the Top 12 from Group 2.

Lambert may have been a little nervous though. After he found out he was through he said, “I thought Nick was hilarious so I didn’t know what was going to happen. I was up there laughing my butt off so… I’m really excited, thank you guys so much”. Thank you Adam.

Last night was still an interesting show though. I really didn’t know who else would be voted through. Kris Allen and Allison Iraheta were voted through. We can assume that Adam received the highest amount of votes for the guys, obviously Allison receive the highest amount for the girls and Kris Allen was the next highest vote getter.

So, next week Group 3 will perform for 3 more spots in the Top 12. Group 3 consists of: Alex Wagner-Trugman, Jorge Nunez, Ju’Not Joyner, Nathaniel Marshall, Scott MacIntyre, Von Smith, Lil Rounds, Arianna Afsar, Felicia Barton, Kendall Beard, Kristen McNamara, Taylor Vaifanua.

Then we have to wait one more week for the Wildcard round to find out who will take final 3 spots for American Idol’s Top 12 this year.

Then finally the week after that the Top 12 will finally start. So we do have quite a wait.

So there are now 6 safely in the Top 12. 4 guys and 2 girls. Adam Lambert, Kris Allen, Danny Gokey, Michael Sarver, Alexis Grace and Allison Iraheta. That is a very talent group of 6! I can’t wait to see who picks up the final 6 positions. This should be a great Top 12 this year.

No doubt about it… Adam was amazing on Wednesday night. He just gets better and better.

Adam Lambert stole the show again last night. He sang The Rolling Stones - Satisfaction and it was awesome. He has a great voice and there is no question that he will be voted through to the Top 12 for this years American Idol. It’s just like Paula said. We were at an Adam Lambert concert. He was just awesome, and the guy to beat this year, there’s no doubt about that.
You got it going on Adam, and we’re sure he’ll be in the Top 12 tomorrow night.

Check it out:

What the judges said!

Randy Jackson“Yo dog check it out. I loved it, so listen and here’s the reason why. From day one when I saw you I loved you. You’re one of the most current artists we ever had on this show. It’s like a combination of Steven Tyler, meets Fallout Boy, meets Robert Pattinson from Twilight. It’s like Chemical Romance. I’m saying dude you got it going, but the thing you gotta watch is it was a little bit manic, but it’s Mick Jagger it should be manic right? But it was a little bit manic the performance and everything. Just don’t over do it but dude it was the bomb I loved it.”

Kara DioGuardi“One thing about tonights performance showed me is your vocal technique and ability is outrageous. I mean you can go so low to so high. Forget about manic you know whether you are dramatic or not, I’m not getting into that, but who has a range like that. It’s some crazy stuff he’s singing I mean it’s craziness in a good way.”.

Paula Abdul“Here’s the thing. I don’t even have words to express how much that I think that I’m not even watching an American Idol competition. I’m watching the Adam Lambert concert. Your phrasing, your choices, what you do, you are in a league of your own, and you are leaving some people in a rear view mirror. That’s all. Congratulation!”

Simon Cowell “Adam I’m really finding this one difficult, because there where parts I thought were excruciatingly bad, and parts I thought were brilliant. So this is a really weird one for me. I thought the end note was terrific but there were parts particularly at the beginning I thought were terrible, to be honest with you, and this is gonna be one of this love it or hate it performances which is fine. I think you’re going to get through.”

Now that the first Group is completed, American Idol released the names of the people in Group 2 and Group 3. Adam Lambert is in Group 2 so we will get to see him next week. I can’t wait! It is a little scary though with how tough it is to get into the Top 12 with this new format. We need to Vote!

Next week Group 2 will compete for 3 more positions in the Top 12 and the week after that Group 3 will compete for another 3 positions.

Group 2: (Next Week)

Group 3: (Following Week)

GUYS: Alex Wagner-Trugman, Jorge Nunez, Ju’Not Joyner, Nathaniel Marshall, Scott MacIntyre, Von Smith

Vote for Adam Lambert

Feb 20

The two shows this week sure showed us just how hard it will be to make the top 12 of American Idol this year. On Tuesday we got to see all the people in Group 1 perform, and on Wednesday we saw the results show where only the top guy (Danny Gokey), the top girl (Alexis Grace) and the next highest vote getter (Michael Sarver) made it through. That is tough!! Not all 12 performances were great, but only 3 people Wow! This means we have to vote for Adam Lambert this week. Don’t assume that Adam is so popular that he doesn’t need your vote.

Here are the first 3 in the TOP 12: Danny Gokey, Alexis Grace and Michael Sarver
Gokey Makes Top 12

In Group 1 of last week there are some very good singers who have not advanced. They may still make an appearance in the Wildcard Round. Stevie Wright and Anoop Desai have both done very well in this competition so far, but neither one made it through.

It is normal for a TV show to change things a little to keep the viewers interested, but I hope the changes to Idol Season 8 don’t result in some talented singers slipping through the cracks. One average performance during this week and the next 2 could end it for somebody.

REMEMBER TO VOTE FOR ADAM LAMBERT

The new format means that next week is hugely important for Adam. We think he’s a strong competitor, but there are some good singers in this group.

Who will be Adam's biggest competition in Group 2?

About 30 minutes after the show the news broke that Joanna Pacitti was disqualified and has been replaced by Felicia Barton. You can read more about the Joanna Pacitti fiasco here. (She shouldn’t have made it in anyway she forgot her lines twice!!)

Here are the Top 36 contestants who will be on American Idol this Season 8. Any contestants who participated in a ’sing-off’ has the contestant they competed against named as well.

I still can’t believe that American Idol had contestants ’sing for their life’ in a ’sing-off’. Hopefully Season 8 won’t have anymore stupid surprises like that. We can only see how these next 4 weeks are. The 36 have been broken up into 3 groups (12 each). The group Adam Lambert is in doesn’t perform next week.

Next Week Group 1 will perform: (Casey Carlson, Stephen Fowler, Jackie Tohn, Ricky Braddy, Anne Marie Boskovich, Brent Keith, Alexis Grace, Michael Sarver, Stevie Wright, Danny Gokey, Tatiana Del Toro, Anoop Desai)

At least we have the voting power now. So vote for Adam Lambert and we can make him ‘the next American Idol’.

Feb 12

Well, not a big surprise, but certainly a relief that Adam Lambert is through. Adam Lambert said that, ‘Hollywood week was a rollercoaster…first singing for the judges…still not convinced about me…last round in Hollywood I sang Believe and I hope it’s going to pay off. It was a risk. I am confident I did my best’. You had nothing to worry about Adam. You are already a star on American Idol.

Adam Lambert Relieved to get Through

Adam Lambert Relieved

Generally, I thought last nights show was terrible. I guess we might have to endure some annoying changes on American Idol Season 8. We didn’t get to see anyone perform last night. Simon Cowell always tells contestants who are focusing too much on dancing, instruments etc, ‘remember that this is a singing competition’. I think the producers of American Idol should be reminded of that. I turned American Idol on last night because I wanted to hear some ’singing’, and there wasn’t any. None at all! Unless you consider some unrehearsed nonsense in the judges room ’singing’ (for contestantss who had to ’sing for their lives’ in a ’sing-off’). As if they hadn’t already made their decision. At least next week we will hear singing again.

Last night was pathetic! The contestants had to go to the ‘Judges Mansion’ where they had to sit in a room waiting for their turn to find out if they were through. Then the contestants were individually brought in to see Simon, Randy, Paula and Kara where they were told whether or not they would be in the Top 36 of American Idol Season 8. Contestants who were very secure were put through immediately. Other contestants were told they had to ’sing for their lives’ in a dramatic ’sing-off’ against another contestant, and that only one of them was going to get through. American Idol ’sing-offs’???

Great Video of Adam Lambert Getting Through

So we had singoffs where they had to ’sing for their lives’, a ‘judges mansions’, surprising dramatic descisions… The one thing missing was contestants actually performing a song they have been rehearsing on stage (so the one thing missing is the main reason people watch the show). Shall we say that they one thing missing from last nights show was some actual singing in this singing competition. Come on American Idol producers. You have the most popular show on television. Why do you have to mess with it??

Anyway, over the next three weeks the remaining 36 will be broken into groups of 12, and we will only get to see 12 people perform each week. Adam Lambert doesn’t perform next week (we might have to wait 3 weeks to see him perform again). Nice format change American Idol. :(

When we finally do get to see Adam Lambert perform again lets be sure to give him our votes.

Next weeks performers include: Casey Carlson, Stephen Fowler, Jackie Tohn, Ricky Braddy, Anne Marie Boskovich, Brent Keith, Alexis Grace, Michael Sarver, Stevie Wright, Danny Gokey, Tatiana Del Toro, Anoop Desai.
